So here I am again where someone is asking me to help with the tables…my elegant client turns to me as her designer, which seems perfectly logical…to help her set the party table…and I was in a real pickle! What was I going to do?!
After that request, which worked out well by the way, I spent years learning and practicing table settings and arranging centerpieces, I even volunteered my house for bridal showers, engagement parties and more JUST so I could practice getting really great at arranging beautiful buffet and sit down dinner tables! I finally developed my own system on table setting, which I first shared in 2013, as part of a Holiday Decorating Course for my best clients! It was a hit & I had finally mastered the art of celebration, when it came to setting tables…that WORKED for real people, using real table settings and eating real meals.

NOTE: This is NOT for people who are looking to be entertained by a fancy show! We are working from spaces as diverse as garages with folding tables as bases and average dining rooms to showcase the reality of setting tables for real people and real tables that get real use.
This challenge is NOT for "sideline perfectionists” who want to make displays that are overwhelming to look at but have no basis in reality. We are not filling these tables with $1,000 plates and hard to find silver that only the Queen of England has access to...we are using things as diverse as folding tables and fabrics, straight from the bolts!
This challenge is NOT for judging people or complainers who are afraid to try new looks or aren’t able to laugh at happy mistakes during the learning process…because this IS a learning process!
This is NOT a “one and done” challenge – it’s learning a new, joyful way of looking at tables and setting them for the best experience and spectacular look you can achieve!
We ONLY want to work with cheerful, hopeful people who want to learn new ways to set beautiful tables this holiday season!
